EUI welcomes delegations from AstraZeneca and Hungary

Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) received a high-level delegation from Hungarian academics and industrial leaders to discuss cooperation in fields such as innovation, digital capabilities, and sustainable development, and to enhance scientific and practical collaborations with leading global companies in the telecommunications and information technology sectors.

The delegation was received by Prof. Reem Bahgat, EUI's President, during a meeting at the university's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The delegation included Mr. Attila Lerch, Managing Director of Euroatlantic ZRT, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sharaf, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Dr. Attila Lővás, Research Associate at HUN-REN Alfréd Renyi Institute of Mathematics, and Mr. Gábor Vadasz, Executive Director of BDO Digital Hungary. The delegation also included representatives from leading companies in various technological fields, including Neuron Solutions Ltd., DATAPAO Ltd., Neumann Nonprofit Ltd., 4iG, and ZÁÉV Építőipari Zrt.

Prof. Bahgat emphasized the university's commitment to building partnerships with the best specialized institutions and universities worldwide to prepare and train students in modern science and technology fields. She highlighted that investing in talented young people with creative skills and innovation is a top priority in Egypt's Vision 2030, which focuses on developing human capital.

During the meeting, EUI's President highlighted the qualitative leap achieved by the university despite its young age, thanks to the encouragement of pioneering talents and innovative ideas among students and providing a suitable environment for them to develop their skills.

In this context, the university also received a high-level delegation from AstraZeneca, a global leader in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The delegation was led by Mr. Nick Passey, Vice President of Digital IT and Innovation, International and Japan, accompanied by Mrs. Leila Helmy, Head of Digital and IT at AstraZeneca Egypt, and Mrs. Yara Osman, Digital Business Partner.

Prof. Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of EUI's Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, welcomed the AstraZeneca delegation and showcased the university's achievements and advanced research centers that are part of its technological infrastructure. She also highlighted the university's academic capabilities and programs offered to students to keep them up-to-date with future challenges.

The meeting discussed potential areas of cooperation, including artificial intelligence, data science, data analysis, and opportunities for student training on real-world data.

Representatives from both delegations expressed their satisfaction with visiting EUI's campus, and exploring opportunities for cooperation. They praised the new republic's focus on science and technology in its future vision to achieve sustainable development.
